Pray for Zim prisoners

Pictures of starving and dying prisoners in Zimbabwe jails, so reminiscent of World War II concentration-camp pictures, have moved me to tears and helpless anger, and to fasting and prayer in solidarity with them.

I’d like to be part of a group of Southern Cross readers who would undertake fasting and prayer for these most neglected and abandoned people.

I propose we pray one of the sorrowful  mysteries of the rosary each weekday (five days), fast on one meal a day for five days, and eat normally at weekends.

Perhaps we could establish a common fund, and find a way to send this money through the Church every three months to feed hungry Zimbabwe prisoners.

If anyone would care to be part of such a group, I’d be glad if they would get in touch with me.
