Preventing abortion – how you can help

Abortion, so abhorrent to many, is seen as part of the liberation of women in many parts of the world. Though we should keep protesting, I fear it is unlikely to be removed soon from the statute books.

We should discuss abortions with members of our family. Make it known that in cases of unwanted pregnancy, you would be there to help.

Birthright cares for both the unborn and the mother. In my 15 years as a volunteer for that organisation I have seen many women and young girls turning to abortions because they are rejected by their families.

No young girl can face the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy unless she has total family support. Too often, family image takes precedence over the fate of the unborn.

Contact Birthright national office at 073 266-2148 to see how you can help. It has only two offices left open, in Johannesburg and Durban, because of a lack of volunteers.

Volunteers will be trained. All that’s needed is commitment to a few hours of your time weekly.

Birthright has been around for more than 30 years offering alternatives to abortion in a caring, loving and non-judgmental way. (Website here)

Help us save the unborn!
