Well-known artist and writer Eric Bolsmann presented one of his favourite “not for sale” paintings to Mgr Marc de Muelenaere of the church of the Beatitudes in Zwavelpoort, eastern Pretoria, on the occasion of his 75th birthday and 50th anniversary celebrations as a priest.
The painting of Christ the Redeemer, “apres Leo Theron”, is of one of the late Theron’s glass windows in a church in Pretoria which Mr Bolsmann painted 25 years ago.
Mr Theron had seen the painting before he died and approved of the work.
The painting will be on permanent display in the church of the Beatitudes.
