Institute for Urban Ministry Consultation – Transform Your City
Every 2 years the Institute for Urban Ministry hosts an interactive Consultation to bring together faith-driven individuals and organisations who are committed to transforming their cities.
This year’s event, from Thurs 22 to Sat 24 October, will be on-line making it more accessible for many people.
The title ‘Do We See Her?’ is taken from Jesus’ encounter with the woman with the jar of oil (Luke 7:36-50). It reminds us that so often (and especially in cities) we fail to see people who are right in front of us, because they are different or they make us feel uncomfortable.
The Consultation brings together Urban Ministry organisations from across South Africa and even from other parts of the world. There will be talks, workshops and also creative activities – including a ‘Festival of Clowns’!
Whilst anyone can access on-line, there is also an opportunity for people who want to connect face-to-face to do so. The Denis Hurley Centre will be providing such a space for participants in Durban.
However you would like to join in, register now (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScK-Xr2MQPuBf3A7FA0_jAYjjWDGfVwHw0zbcdPncOZFIMtWw/viewform) and you will be kept informed.
We are also planning a similar on-line event for the 2020 National Conversation about Homelessness (3-5 Nov). For more information see Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/3467994306577746.
