Holy Family College Bids Farewell to Grade 1 Teacher
Holy Family College in Durban sadly bid farewell to Primary School Grade 1 teacher and a part of our School Management Team, Mrs Leanne Massey. School Principal, Mrs Ursula Collings, thanked Mrs Massey for her dedication to our school and passion for teaching, her time, talents and energy, and wished her well in her new adventure. We will keep her Mother and family in our prayers.
Mrs Massey always went the extra mile with her learners bringing love and joy to the classroom. It was not unusual to find Mrs Massey sitting on the floor with her class. Mrs Massey often dressed in character for her lessons which was inspiring and motivating for her class and colleagues. Disguises included Wizard, Cat in the Hat, Pirate. Mrs Massey also introduced yoga to the class.
Mrs Massey received beautiful farewell cards and thoughtful gifts from her learners, past and present and said “it’s when you read the heartfelt words of a past learner that you realise the impact you’ve had on a child as a teacher”. Mrs Massey is looking forward to spending quality time with her grandchildren.
