Ethiopian Inter-Religious Council official Establishment in South Africa

Ethiopian Inter-Religious Council General secretary Kesis Tagay visited Ethiopian Religious leaders to establish an Ethiopian Inter-Religious Council on September 20.

The event was held at Ethiopian Embassy Meeting Hall and welcomed by Ethiopian Diaspora Desk Coordinator Mr Getachew Makebo and Ethiopian Ambassador Dr Muktar Kedir Abdu.

The Participants came together from various Religions including Catholic, Ethiopian Orthodox church,7th Day Adventist, Protestant and Apostolic Church.

At their gathering, H.E Dr Muktar Kedir reminded all Ethiopians of the situation of the Ethiopian Civil war and the displacement of people, especially in the Southern Part of Ethiopia.

At the end of the Ethiopian Inter-Religious Council gathering, secretary-general Tagay advised all Religious leaders to elect 5 Executive members from 5 Religions – Ethiopian Orthodox church, Islamic Religion, Protestant,7th Day Adventist and Ethiopian Catholic Community.
