Conversations with God the Father: A Plan for Spiritual Nourishment
Do You Have A Plan For Spiritual Nourishment? David Sadie and his book Conversations with God the Father is here to help
Do you long to hear from God? Prayer is not a one-way conversation. You can experience a deep and intimate relationship with God as you hear from Him about what he needs you to hear and know. In his second book, Conversations with God the Father, author David Sadie offers a series of conversations between himself and God on a wide variety of topics about daily life.
We live in a world that is becoming increasingly noisy. In our homes and outside our homes we are constantly overwhelmed by a cacophony of sound. The television blaring, the traffic, the earsplitting construction work going on all over and the music booming from car windows on the street. It’s a wonder we can hear ourselves think anymore.
Using personal reflections and scriptures as the backdrop, the author encourages readers to develop a relationship with God so they recognize his voice as he speaks. The inclusion of scriptures in the book shows how they are not a complicated puzzle meant for pensive biblical scholars, but a divine guide for our everyday spiritual life.
The book is essentially a tool designed to train our ears to hear from the One who is always speaking. It was Jesus who said that his sheep know his voice, but recognition comes through listening and repeated exposure. We only recognize a voice we hear often. “I listen to the soft, gentle whispering of the Holy Spirit as God the Father speaks to me in my heart and I write down everything he says to me as I understand it,” Sadie explains in the book`s introduction.
In one of the book`s two footnotes, Monsignor Barney McAlear says: “In simplicity and humility David offers to others the fruit of his dialogue with the Father on the scriptures which we are all encouraged to read in the light of our daily lives in South Africa today.”
While we commonly develop plans for success in our careers, business, finances, and education, only rarely do we develop strategies for advancing in our spiritual lives. This book is a good start. It`s a practical and motivational book to help you pursue spiritual excellence and discover the abundant life Our Lord is calling you to experience.
Sadie has dug a deep well of devotion that springs forth in life-giving words of grace and truth.
