By Moses Govender – The Parish of Our Lady of the Angels and St Clare, as part of the Umdoni Men’s League, hosted the Provincial KZN Catholic Men’s League conference on May 25. The conference was hosted in Mariannhill Diocese for the first time in many years and about 150 men from numerous parishes around the province attended.
Bishop Neil Augustine Frank celebrated Holy Mass for the men. Also in attendance were other priests, Fr Cosmos Mzizi (keynote speaker), Fr Roman Mbelu, Fr Chris Neville and Fr Grant Emmanuel. Dr Sylvester Michael Savrimuthu gave an inspirational talk and provided medical advice to the brothers at the conference.
Commissions discussed issues concerning Catholic men and how they could contribute to a successful society through their Catholic faith within their families, the Church and the country as a whole.
“The event was the result of many months of planning and by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was a wonderful day full of praise, worship, discussion and fellowship. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this inspirational day,” said Moses Govender.
