The parish welcomed Fr Elias with a breakfast meeting for active parish members on January 31. Fr Sami Chaaya, Parish Priest and Superior for the Maronite Mission in Southern Gauteng, started the meeting with an opening prayer and an introduction to Fr Sleiman, who thanked parishioners for their continued support and service to the parish.
On Sunday, February 1, Fr Sleiman celebrated the 8am, 10am and 5:30 Masses, followed by refreshments and a meet and greet in the parish foyer. The Superior General was well received, and the visit served to strengthen the bond between the South African mission and its international leadership.
