Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Celebrates 70 Years of Grace

By Mashadi Mathosa – The Queen of the Most Holy Rosary (QMHR) Parish in Waverley, Archdiocese of Pretoria marked a significant milestone on 10 October 2026 as parishioners, clergy and guests gathered to celebrate the parish’s 70th anniversary under the theme, “70 Years of Grace.”

The celebration was led by Archbishop Dabula Mpako, Auxiliary Bishop Masilo Selemela, priests from neighbouring parishes, and QMHR Parish Priest, Fr Joseph Molapo. The occasion brought together parishioners and guests in thanksgiving for seven decades of faith, service and community.

The day commenced with a solemn procession in honour of Our Lady, followed by a Holy Mass of thanksgiving. After the Mass, parishioners and guests gathered for lunch and fellowship, reflecting on the parish’s rich history through stories and shared memories.

Parishioners were encouraged to draw inspiration from the faith and dedication of previous generations, deepen their prayer lives, and continue serving the Church and wider community with commitment and compassion.
