Holy Family College Makes History Come Alive

Holy Family College Grade 12 History Learners made parachutes and launched them as part of an activity on a section they recently covered – The Cold War. During lessons on the Cold War (1945-1991), Grade 12 History learners discovered that during the Berlin Blockade, the USA dropped supplies (food, fuel & medicine) using parachutes to West Berliners and during the USA’s involvement in the Vietnam War (1955-1975), Paratroopers were employed to land in enemy territories on search and destroy missions.” – Memorable History lesson by teacher, Miss Bianca Samuel
