St John Vianney Seminary Sets the Stage for Johannesburg Catholic Music Extravaganza
St John Vianney Seminary is hosting a music concert on Sunday 15 October at St Vincent Church in Tembisa, Johannesburg. The concert features St John Vianney Seminary Choir as concert headliners, and several other Catholic music acts on the line-up.
Amongst these are The Light Twins, Ms Thuso wa Sibini, Thulasizwe Ndlovu, the St Vincent Parish Choir and MaCecilia a St Agnes and Sacred Heart from Soweto.
“The objective of the concert is to raise funds in order to buy additional furniture for the seminary, as we are celebrating seventy-five years of the existence of the seminary. Besides that, we also wish to impart to our future leaders, the seminarians, a sense of a self-reliant Church because they will be involved in different projects which will be in need of funding in their future endeavours as ordained priests,” Fr Sibongiseni Msomi, the St John Vianney Seminary music projects coordinator said.
The day starts at 8h45 with a sung morning prayer. Holy Mass follows at 9h30 presided over by the Very Reverend Ncedo Siwundla. The concert starts at 12h00. Br Sandile Msomi and Thato Mokoena will act as the programme directors for the concert.
