Women’s Month off to a Great Start at St John the Baptist in Pta North

“The wellbeing of a Woman in the Modern Era” was the theme of a Women’s Month seminar hosted by the Marriage and Family Life Ministry of St John the Baptist parish in Pretoria North on August 3. The well-attended event featured several speakers who provided education, advice and insights to the attendants from a wide range of perspectives.
The dress code for the day was “Denim Blue, a white top and a traditional doek” and the ladies went all out to adhere to the day’s theme.
Fr Jeremiah Mkhwanazi, parish priest of St John the Baptist opened the seminar with a short talk and a prayer. Several speakers addressed the seminar on topics such as emotional and psychological well-being, spiritual health, financial planning and building good family structures.

Among the speakers were a City of Tshwane MMC for health, a psychologist/fitness trainer, a financial planner and a nun from the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. After the marathon four-hour seminar, the women mingled and visited the various stalls set up in the church’s courtyard.
The stalls represented the City of Tshwane health department, a financial planning company and various other entities. Lunch was served to finish off a day well-spent by the attendees in celebration of Women’s Month.
