The Chosen Returns to SA Screens

Scenes from The Chosen Season 5
Following last year’s successful cinema run of the popular series The Chosen, the first two episodes of Season 5 will be released in South African cinemas nationwide on Thursday, April 10.
The two-episode instalment will focus on Holy Week and be played as a double-bill in cinemas.
The Chosen is a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus (played by Jonathan Roumie, a Catholic), seen through the eyes of those who knew him.
Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Palestine, the seven-season series follows the events described in the Gospels.
The series, which is streamed for free on the Internet, started as a crowd-funded project and has grown to over 280 million viewers and more than 17 million social media followers. Seasons 1-4 are available on The Chosen website (https://www.thechosen.tv/). Season 5 will be released at some time after the cinema run.
The trailer for Season 5 can be viewed at https://intl.thechosenlastsupper.com. Tickets can be booked on the same site.
The Chosen will be screened at the following cinemas: (Ster Kinekor) Baywest, Brooklyn Comm, Cresta, Garden Route, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Rosebank Nouveau, Tygervalley, V&A Waterfront, Vaal, Blue Route, (Nu-Metro) Clearwater, The Glen, Hyde Park, Menlyn, Pavilion, Canal Walk, Boardwalk, Woodlands, Ballito Junction, Cornubia, Westgate, as well as at the Road House Cinema in Hermanus.
