Catholic Men’s Association Launches at St Josephs, Oukasie in Brits

Catholic Men’s Association (CMA) welcomed six new members into its fold at St Joseph Church in Oukasie, Brits.
In a heartfelt ceremony enriched by beautiful music and singing, the Catholic Men’s Association (CMA) welcomed six new members into its fold on July 6 at St Joseph Church in Oukasie, Brits.
This event also signified the launch of the CMA at this historic parish, which is among the oldest in the archdiocese of Pretoria. The significant event saw participation from more than 150 CMA members hailing from various parishes within the Archdiocese of Pretoria.
The proceedings commenced with Holy Mass, officiated by Fr Cephas Mubanga Faifi CSS, who also serves as the spiritual director of the CMA in the North-West Deanery of the archdiocese of Pretoria. During his homily, he emphasised the importance of men in society, particularly within the Church and family, to exemplify positive relationships with those around them.
“Today’s occasion signifies a pivotal moment where God calls upon each of us men to embrace the responsibilities He has entrusted to us as heads of our families and as role models for our children and the youth in general. Let us not disappoint Him in this endeavour,” he remarked.
He further expressed his hope that the establishment of the new St Joseph Church CMA would serve as a catalyst for the growth of the sodality within the North-West Deanery of the Archdiocese of Pretoria and beyond.
The CMA is a Catholic Men’s Association with a deep connection to St Peter and St Paul. It has a significant presence in the archdiocese of Pretoria, where it was established, and extends to parishes as far as Mafikeng, Taung, and the diocese of Kimberley.
In a touching display of generosity at the end of Mass, the newly-established CMA branch presented a monetary donation to the parish’s altar servers, who were preparing for a retreat organized for altar servers in the archdiocese commencing on Monday. Following the Mass, lunch was provided for all attending members and parishioners.
The CMA is set to host a major annual event, which will include all CMA branches, at St Paul Church in Tsakane, Brakpan, Gauteng on 27 July 2025. For further information, please contact Mr Lucky Nkopane at 082 305 3350.
