First Profession of Seven Dehonians
By Bokang Tsoanamatsie – The Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus joyfully celebrated the first religious vows of seven brothers at the Aliwal North Novitiate Monastery in the Eastern Cape Province. This occasion signifies a deep commitment to Christ and the Church, serving as a testament to their bravery, faith, and love for both God and humanity.
As they stood at this pivotal moment, they became part of a rich legacy grounded in the charism of Fr Leo John Dehon, the founder of the congregation. They professed vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, which are not merely evangelical counsels but also avenues toward a more profound union with Christ’s own Heart. Through these commitments, they become living embodiments of God’s love in a world that longs for hope and compassion.
As St Pope John Paul II articulated in his apostolic exhortation Vita Consecrata, “Religious profession is a special gift which brings about a new spiritual birth.” They have been called to emanate joy, humility, and service as true sons of Fr Dehon and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The congregation extended its congratulations to the six brothers who are Zambian natives and one Mosotho native from Maria Mamohau in the Archdiocese of Maseru.
They were also wished abundant blessings as they faithfully and joyfully embrace their vocation.
The brothers who professed are as follows:
Br Andrew Inambao SCJ
Br Kingsley M. Banda SCJ
Br Nchimunya Chilyo SCJ
Br Gift S. Chitambala SCJ
Br Kennedy Siamasambwe SCJ
Br Chrispin Nkandu SCJ
Br Leon Molatoli SCJ.
