Pope Leo to Follow in St Augustine’s Footsteps in Africa
The Holy See Press Office has announced Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming Apostolic Journeys: one day in the Principality of Monaco at the end of March; ten days in Africa – Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea in April and six days in Spain, between Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands archipelago, in June.
The longest—from 13 to 23 April—will see him in Africa, where he will visit:
Algeria – visiting Algiers and Annaba, following in the footsteps of Saint Augustine.
Cameroon with stops in Yaoundé, Bamenda and Douala;
Angola, where he will visit Luanda, Muxima and Saurimo; and
Equatorial Guinea, where he will visit Malabo, Mongomo and Bata.
