Pius XII, still open questions
Your October that Pope Pius XII be named “Righteous Among the Nations” refers. Gary Krupp, who heads an American Jewish organisation, is said to be leading such a campaign. The fact that this is so controversial should perhaps disqualify any attempt at beatification.

Candidates for beatification should stand out as universal beacons of light; they should be beyond reproach. It should unite, not divide.
Did Pius XII do enough to stop the Holocaust; to speak out unequivocally against these human rights abuses; to protect Jews in Rome that were deported to death camps, or any Jews that appealed to the Vatican for help; to show leadership as Jesus Christ would have?
I hope he did, but I do not know. I feel, though, that if he had, he would have been acknowledged already. I’d like to know the truth.
Statements from supporters of the beatification that “a strong public stance against the Nazis would likely have resulted in swift reprisals against Jews” do not wash with me.
