St Teresa’s School supported Rare Diseases Day by voluntarily purchasing badges for R10 which our Senior Primary girls wore on their school uniforms and our Junior Primary girls during a civvies day this week. The main objective of Rare Diseases Day on 28 February 2022 is to raise awareness amongst the public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. There are over 6000 rare diseases that affect over 300 million people worldwide. Tyra Penn (Grade 7) has personally experienced rare disease in her family and shared her story with the Senior Primary girls.
