Ethiopian and Eritrean Catholic Community Member Getahun Sinore’s farewell celebration

By Community National Coordinator Hailu Adalo – A farewell and thanksgiving celebration was held at Holy Rosary parish in Tembisa, Archdiocese of Pretoria, for Ethiopian and Eritrean Catholic Community member Getahun Sinore, who has returned home to Ethiopia.
Getahun Sinore’s farewell celebration took place on All Saints Day. Many family and friends including the choir and musicians came to join in the event with great joy and thanksgiving because many foreigners have lost their lives in South Africa by robbers, gangs, xenophobic attacks and accidents.
The celebration was held by Community National Chaplain Fr Joseph Guduno with parish priest Fr Celestin Bela MSC. There were prayers for Ethiopian peace, unity and reconciliation and a special blessing was given to Getahun Sinore.

Self-employed, Getahun Sinore has lived in South Africa since 27 October 2010 in various areas with many challenges but God protected him with His Grace and Mercy.
At the end of the event, participants provided their personal gifts and prayers with their best wishes for his return home to Ethiopia safely.
