Marist Brother Linmeyer Rings Bell of Hope

Ms Tiana De Oliveira (Grade 8 Register Teacher, Geography and Life Orientation Teacher) and Ms Caitlin Viljoen (Grade 8 Grade Head, Life Orientation and Geography Teacher) assisting Grade 8 students light the candles.

Marist Brothers Linmeyer High School held the Grade 8 Ringing-In Ceremony to mark the end of their orientation week. Each Grade 8 student rang the Bell of Hope, symbolising their official welcome to High School. This group of Grade 8s will once again ring the Bell of Hope after writing their Matric final examination in 4 years’ time.

Grade 12 students: Amdie Sandjon-Lagueu (Deputy Chairperson), Jude Nassif (Deputy Chairperson), Jennifer Cumming (Chairperson), Byron Pearson (Chairperson) and Fr Tshepo Duik.

After each student rang the bell, they all lit a candle and received a blessing from  Father Tshepo Duik. To conclude the ceremony and in keeping with Marist tradition, the Grade 8s joined the rest of the school in singing the school war cry. Welcome to Marist Brothers Linmeyer Grade 8s!
