Spend 67 Minutes on Mandela Day at Little Eden Society
LITTLE EDEN Society residents are excited to share Mandela Day
Little Eden Society invites the community and volunteers from all walks of life, to connect with, and involve themselves, in the lives of our residents, see our facilities and experience our stimulation programmes as part of their 67 Minutes on Mandela Day. This will greatly assist the community to gain a better understanding of the Society’s mission and cause.
This year’s Mandela Day theme is “Climate, Food & Solidarity”, and the organisation is encouraging anyone who is interested in making a difference and creating a lasting impact in the lives of those with intellectual disabilities, to join us on this day of service.
The Society will be ready to welcome visitors on the day from 09:00 to 15:00, at both the Edenvale and Bapsfontein Homes. Visitors may wish to donate disposable nappies, instant porridge or soft cereals for the residents, or second-hand items for the Little Eden Charity Shop. Participants will be engaged in fun activities with the residents, maintenance work, or sorting out donations in the Charity Shop Depot.
“It’s an ideal opportunity to make a difference and help to celebrate one of South Africa’s most inspiring leaders and icons, Nelson Mandela,” said CEO of Little Eden Xelda Rohrbeck. “We’d love as many people as possible to join us on the day, to help us continue our work in providing care and support for the 300 children and adults living with profound intellectual disability being cared for at our Homes.”
Those interested in participating on the day should email Relationship Officer Danica Savvi on , alternatively, they may call the Society on 011 609 7246.
