A Day to Pray For SA to Our Lady in Pretoria
The Archdiocese of Pretoria will be having a crusade to pray for South Africa at Christian Brothers College (CBC) Mount Edmund on Saturday 14 October.
The event is being organised by Bro Atta Angelus (OSB) of Inkamana Monastery along with Terry Maphai, a rally captain from South Africa Needs Our Lady, an organisation whose mission is to “bring our Lady to win the heart and soul of South Africa for her by spreading the Fatima Message.”
“We are a special campaign of Family Action South Africa to capture the heart and soul of South Africa with the Message of Our Lady of Fatima,” the organisation says on its website.
The event will be graced by the presence of the Auxillary-Bishop of the Archdiocese of Pretoria Bishop John Masilo Selemela, who will lead prayers along with Fr Thabiso Ledwaba, Fr Thulani Madinda, and a number of other priests.
“The day is part of a countrywide series of events on Saturday by our organisation to reflect and pray for our country South Africa, through our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary. It will also serve as a public demonstration of the great power of praying the Holy Rosary together, thus reminding people how the Holy Rosary Prayer was part of ending the Second World War,” Terry Maphai said.
The Marian hymns, which will be sung by a choir, will be led by Catholic musician Angelou Mokone. The rosary, adoration, benediction and the Angelus are among the prayers scheduled for the day`s morning prayer session.
A break for a family picnic is scheduled for 1:00pm, followed by the final of the Divine Mercy chaplet in the afternoon.
Attendants are encouraged to bring along their own food baskets, blankets and camping chairs.
