Fr Michele D’Annucci Tribute Book Goes To Italy
Two copies of a book based on pioneer Stigmatine Fathers priest Fr Michelle D’Annucci CSS are finally on their way to Italy.
After going through many stumbling blocks, the copies of the “MASUSUMETSA – FR MICHELE D’ANNUCCI – TRIBUTES TO A MARTYR OF CHARITY” book will be handed over to Donatella D’Annucci on behalf of the D’Annucci family. Donatella is Fr Michele’s niece and a co-editor of the book.
The second copy is going to Fr Gianni Piccolboni and the Stigmatine Fathers in Verona.
The book is a series of sixty tributes written by a variety of people in tribute to the late Stigmatine Fathers priest.
Recognised for his pioneering actions, Fr D’Annucci played an instrumental role in the introduction of countless social and ecumenical initiatives in the Pretoria region of the archdiocese of Pretoria from the late seventies up to the late nineties.
He spearheaded the building of homes fir destitute families, the introduction of marriage counselling and parish pastoral training amongst many other projects.
He also played an instrumental role in the founding of significant social institutions in Pretoria, such as the Christ the New Man Pastoral Centre, Tsogo High School, the Bethesda Special School for children with physical and mental disabilities, and many kindergartens as well.
The books were received by Fr Severino, a great friend, fellow seminarian and fellow Stigmatine priest with Fr Michele at the St Gaspar Bertoni Centre in Pretoria yesterday.
