Archbishop Emeritus George Daniel of Pretoria received the Masusumetsa – Fr Michele D’annucci CSS – Tributes To A Martyr Of Charity book on Monday.
“I’m happy to receive this most important book on my great friend and close confidante Fr Michele D’Annucci. I’m told I’ve been quoted by a few writers in the book. I look forward to reading all about it.”
The book is a 362-page book including sixty tributes from various figures to the late Italian-born Stigmatine Fathers priest.
He worked tirelessly over thirty-four years in South Africa, Botswana and Tanzania before meeting his untimely death during a hijacking in 2001. In 2002 Fr Michele was declared a martyr of the Church.
Among those who contributed their tributes are St Pope John Paul II, Nelson Mandela and many other individuals (both clergy and laity), and it also includes an extensive photo gallery.
The archbishop emeritus was and still remains a great friend of the Stigmatine Fathers, Fr Michele’s congregation of priests.
