Perpetual Profession of Five Ursuline Sisters
For the Love of Christ urges us on (2 Corinthians 5:14)
The Ursuline Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary were blessed with five junior sisters, Srs Pauline Mangumbi, Ursula Mashora, Ambrosia Chapita, Maria Kampila and Margaret Mary Makuwerere who made their perpetual profession on December 8. The celebration was held at Mount Nicholas Parish, South African Provincial House in Libode, Diocese of Mthatha.

Bishop Sithembele Sipuka was the main celebrant of the day. His homily emphasised the living out of the three Evangelical Counsels: Chastity, Poverty and Obedience, to which the sisters were committing themselves for life.
Their theme was based on St Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians….For the Love of Christ Urges us on (2 Cor 5:14). The theme was an expression of the sisters’ gratitude towards the faithful and unconditional Love of God which has kept them going and that, this Love will carry them through their journey of following our Lord.

It is a grace in that, today, the Church still has young people willing to commit themselves to Religious Life. We keep praying that the Lord keeps penetrating and opening the hearts of our young people today so that they may respond joyfully and with trust to this call of Grace. Religious Life is just a celebration of God’s Love for us.
The Ursuline Family is indeed Grateful.
