Solemnity of Corpus Christi at Blessed Liberat Parish
Blessed Liberat Parish in Newlands West, Durban, once again celebrated the Solemnity of Corpus Christi in a very special way led by Father Ndumiso Khumalo OFM.
The celebration commenced with prayers for South Africa, youth and general intercession, with the procession between two altars outside and then into the Church, whilst hymns were sung in reflection of the Blessed Sacrament. All the sodalities were involved in the procession – Baby Jesus, Saint Mary, Sacred Heart, St Joseph and St Anne’s.
Bread and grapes were placed on the altar, symbolic of Corpus Christi. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament formed part of the Mass. Submitted by Elaine Prosper, photos by Nombuso Vilakazi. See more photos on Facebook
