How to Choose your Confirmation Saint
When we choose a saint for Confirmation, we are choosing a lifelong companion, a role model whose values and life we wish to embody. So it’s important! When we are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit at our Confirmation, we are given the strength to live out our faith in our daily lives, and our Confirmation saint is part of that guidance for daily Catholic living.
So let’s start the process of choosing our saint.
The first question to ask yourself is: What is close to your heart? The sick, the dying, the poor? Helping others? Animals? The love of God? Following Jesus’ life? The Eucharist? Social justice? Women and children?
What kind of person do you want to be? A dependable and trustworthy person? A problem solver? A generous person? A peace-loving person?
What kind of qualities do you want to develop? Bravery? Selflessness? Humility? Kindness?
The answers to these questions will guide you in choosing a saint for your Confirmation. You can Google “Patron Saint of [the sick] for example, to find your perfect saint.
