After abortion…
Your report “After abortion, mercy” (March 25-31) refers. Yes, mercy not only to this individual tragic case of a minor, but to all of God’s dear mothers who have fallen prey to this evil man-made right to take a defenceless life; a soul of God’s in the safety of its mother’s womb that God created for its protection.
I do not believe that there is a mother alive who forgets the fruit of her womb, even if she has had ten abortions.
Our Mother Mary has been reported to have been seen standing on mounds of aborted babies. She pleads with us to correct this tragedy in our human communities. She points out that this is causing her Son, our Saviour and our judge, great traumatic stress.
We need to show unrestricted love to these mothers who have had abortions, and to bring them back into union with the compassionate heart of Christ.
If we achieve this for our heavenly King, we will provide him with a most effective weapon to combat man’s evil desire to take life. If these poor women develop a cleansed heart and conscience, they will go forth with their voices to be heard by other would-be fooled victims.
At our rosary group at the Immaculate Conception Grotto in Parow, Cape Town, we’ve been saying the following prayer which is in line with our Mother Mary’s request. Perhaps other groups or individuals could introduce this into their prayer lives:
“O Sacred Heart of Jesus, please intercede to protect and save the unborn, and wisdom to the mothers and families tormented about whether to take a life. Help those who have already been party to abortion to be consoled by your mercy. Have mercy on those mothers who have died from being party to this evil procedure.”
