Holy Family College Voting Day!

Holy Family College Primary School learners gathered in the hall to listen to candidates prepared motivation speech encouraging learners to vote for them as 2022 Prefects.
Our school motto is “Quid Retribuam” which means “What shall I render?” Candidates were reminded that being a Prefect is all about serving our school and fellow learners.
Voting day followed the same principal as the National Voting Day on Monday, 1st November. Learners made ID cards and “registered” as parents were required to do for the upcoming elections.
On Voting Day learners produced their ID cards, Mrs Gounden checked if the learner was registered and Mrs Makhaye marked thumbs with a black permanent marker showing they have already voted. Parents can only vote for one political party and likewise learners could only vote for one prefect candidate. Learners were assisted by teachers to mark their voting sheets in a private voting booth, fold ballot sheet and pop vote into the ballot box.
Teachers will meet to tally the votes and prefects will be announced on Awards Day, 30th November 2021.
