Today is the Feast of St Dorothy, patroness of gardeners, midwives and newlyweds. Legend has it that before Dorothy’s death, she was mockingly asked to show the fruits of the paradise she was heading to which was answered by 3 apples and 3 roses being delivered to the questioner after her death.
