Little Eden Society’s Annual Christmas Concert – ERV House Rocks!

By Gaahele Mokgoro  – Little Eden Society invites the community to join them in taking a trip down memory lane at this year’s annual Christmas concert where music from the 60’s and 70’s will be celebrated.

The annual Christmas concert, which will be held at the Society’s Elvira Rota Village Home in Bapsfontein on Friday, 29 November and Saturday, 30 November 2024under the theme: “ERV House Rocks”, promises a vibrant celebration of music, community, and the holiday spirit as they take the audience on a nostalgic journey back to the 60s and 70s musical era.

The outgoing Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Xelda Rohrbeck said that the audience can expect to be taken back in time to the rock and roll era with some iconic tunes.  “The community can expect a real show-stopping experience. With music that will get everyone moving and dancing along to many of the musical numbers that the residents will be singing along to,” she said.

The concert which is free to attend, will also include a traditional nativity scene, and the audience members are invited to join in and sing along with the carols, making this a truly interactive and heart-warming event for all.

The Christmas concert is one of the most anticipated highlights at Little Eden as the residents prepare for months, showcasing the new skills they have learned and developed throughout the year. Friends and benefactors of the Society travel from near and far to be part of these special performances, and the residents eagerly anticipate the applause and encouragement from the audience.

The concert practices also serve as an integral part of the stimulation therapy program, particularly the singing and dancing segments, which the residents cherish and enjoy. By attending this event, visitors not only celebrate the festive season but also contribute to the well-being and development of the residents.

After the concert, visitors are invited to explore the Christmas market where a variety of interesting items from the Society’s Charity Shop will be available for purchase. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet the residents, and guided tours of the facility will be offered to provide insight into the work done by
Little Eden Society.
