By Hailu Adalo – The Ethiopian and Eritrean Catholic Community member Daselgn Fattana’s Thanksgiving Service was held on Sunday, 13 December 2020 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Selly Park, Rustenburg.
Fr Tyrone Sam CSsR encouraged brother Daselgn to continue with his Faith where ever he lives with a speech, prayer and final blessing – wishing Daselgn a safe journey to Ethiopia.
Community National Coordinator Evangelist Hailu Adalo in his speech said:
“Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9).
Do not be afraid that is written in the Bible 365 times, for example, Genesis 15:1, Exodus 20:20, Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom do I fear? The Lord is my life’s refugee; of whom am I afraid? Isaiah 41:10.

In the same way in the Gospel of Luke 1:30, Then the angel said to Mary,” Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God.” The word of God teaches us by giving hope to people of God through his Church because God is our protector, guider, good shepherd, true Father, Almighty, always living with us especially when we are in a bad situation like Refugees and Migrants.
At the end of his speech, he said: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; wisdom and instruction fools despise.”(Proverbs 1:7)
Invited guests came together from around Rustenburg and offered different gifts to brother Daselgn to share their joy as family and friends. Catholic Community executive committee and Chaplain Priest Fr Joseph Yakob sent his good wishes.
The Ceremony concluded after guests enjoyed Ethiopian traditional food.
Wishing him a very safe trip to his home Country Ethiopia, because home is a best.
By Community National Coordinator in South Africa, Evangelist Hailu Adalo, from the diocese of Rustenburg.
