Maris Stella School in Durban Matriculants and their parents gathered in their school Chapel for their final Mass on October 11.
The Chapel was adorned with a flock of brightly coloured birds, crafted by the girls in their Religious Education lessons. The birds symbolise their readiness to spread their wings and leave the nurturing embrace of Maris Stella – no longer nestlings, but courageous eagles ready to soar and make a positive impact on the world.

Chaplain, Father David Houbert, delivered a beautiful homily, encouraging the girls to use their time and lives to spread the boundless Love of God in their new environments. May their wings carry them far and wide, and may the Love of God guide them every step of the way.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
