St John Vianney Seminary Celebrates Seventy-Five Years with Musical Jubilation

St John Vianney Seminary hosted a music concert at the St Vincent Church in Tembisa, Johannesburg on October 15. Among the concert-goers was  Bishop John Masilo Selemela, Auxiliary-bishop of Pretoria.

The day began with Holy Mass celebrated by the Very Reverend Fr Wellington Siwundla with a number of other priests. The concert was held as a fundraising effort towards the seminary`s renovation project. It was also held to mark the beginning of the seminary`s seventy-five years celebrations.

Sold-out days before, the concert lived up to expectations with the seminary choir stealing the show amidst much fanfare. Equally mesmerising were support acts Thuso wa Sibini, The Light Twins, Thulasizwe Guqu Ndlovu, the St Vincent Choir, the MaCecilia a St Agnes and Sacred Heart Choir and others.

St John Vianney Seminary plans to extend the concert into an annual event and host it in a bigger venue. This will be part of the ongoing seventy-five years anniversary celebrations, which are expected to continue into the coming year.
