The feast of St Mark is on 25 April. St Mark, our Saint of the Month for April, was born in Africa and travelled with Peter and Paul in the Book of Acts preaching the Gospel. Tradition has it that he went on to Egypt, founding the Christian Church there and becoming the first bishop of Alexandria. Read about his life in the April issue of The Southern Cross.
