The campaign for Sr Julia is making one final, heartfelt appeal for your generosity to help Sister Julia Mafike, a Basotho Catholic nun and beekeeper from Lesotho, realise her dream of travelling to Rome in December to share her inspiring story of faith, beekeeping and care for our common home.
Sister Julia has been invited to share her experience of beekeeping as a woman religious in Lesotho, demonstrating how faith, environmental responsibility and sustainable living can work together in the spirit of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’.
Thanks to the generosity of those who have already contributed, encouraging progress has been made towards the fundraising goal. Sister Julia is now just R26,000 short of the R42,000 needed to make this journey possible.
But time is running out. With the visit scheduled for December, November must be dedicated to final preparations, including visa applications, flights and accommodation. Sr Julia cannot afford to wait much longer.
