Saint of the Week: Pope John Paul II

Tuesday 22nd October is the feast day of Pope John Paul II – the 2nd longest serving pope after Pius IX – serving for 27 years. He was elected Pope on the 16th October 1978. He died in 2005 and was canonised a saint on 27 April 2014 on Divine Mercy Sunday.
