Ordination of Fr Fani Nong OMI

Ordination of Fr Fani Nong OMI in Mogobane, Gabarone in Botswana.
Bishop Frank Nubuasah: Being the first time that we could gather as a diocese due to covid, it was a test of our resilience as a community of faith. Three priests were ordained during the covid restrictions, and we could not celebrate. The Bishop of Francistown was ordained, and we could not attend as the numbers were limited to 50 persons. It was our day to celebrate.

Fr Nong is a Religious of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate Congregation (OMI). The OMI were the first real evangelisers of Botswana, and they procured the farm supporting the Gaborone diocese today. Little acts of a missionary group almost, almost 100 years ago, had become the cow that provides the milk and wool for the church. God bless the OMI, past, present, and future.
