St Teresa’s School New Library Mural!

Class of 2021 Rosies, Silvana Salgadoand Camryn Ellefsen with the mural they painted in the library at St Teresa’s Senior Primary School
English Educator, Robyn Oliviera, spearheaded the revamp and relaunch of the library in the new building at St Teresa’s Senior Primary School.
Ms Oliveira’s vision for the library included a giant book-themed mural. Class of 2021 Rosies, Camryn Ellefsen and Silvana Salgado, both talented artists, returned to St Teresa’s to make Ms Oliveira’s dream a reality.
The result is an enormous 9-metre square fictional world mash-up, which depicts 70 identifiable book characters, places and objects inspired by 50 books, penned by no less than 42 authors.
The design was sketched in pencil, then digitally rendered, and projected directly onto the wall using specialised software. The detailed design was then hand-drawn onto the wall using charcoal pencils. After months of incredibly intricate, meticulous work using bright acrylics, the result is a vibrant, fun-filled, imaginative, and witty magical landscape, which St Teresa’s School hopes will not only entertain Senior Primary Rosies but also inspire them to spend more time in the library investigating the worlds hidden on its shelves.
