When Deacon Byron Bowers of Port Elizabeth is ordained to the priesthood on June 3, there will be a 60-year gap between his ordination and that of Mgr Brendan Deenihan. Less than two weeks later, Mgr Deenihan, one of the best-known priests in the diocese of Port Elizabeth, will celebrate six decades of the priesthood, having been ordained on June 16, 1963. On May 20, both joined the parish of the Sacred Heart in Kabega Park for Mass ahead of their upcoming celebrations, which will be hosted by the parish. Photos: Lisa Faith Augustine
