Laudato Si Workshop at Our Lady of the Rosary, Hanover Park, Cape Town
The Evangelisation team of Our Lady of the Rosary in Hanover Park, Archdiocese of Cape Town, organised a parish children’s workshop on the Laudato Si Movement, prepared by parish catechists, and guided by representatives of MARFAM.
The team of this Salesian parish, led by Fr John Thompson SDB, shared the deeper motivations for the Laudato Si movement action: “Our children are the future and we need to ensure they know how to care for our world and God’s Creation and how they can positively contribute to the care about our common home.”
Since January 2024, the whole Southern Africa province of the Salesians of Don Bosco (eSwatini, Lesotho, South Africa) embarked on the ‘Eco Ubuntu’ project, which involves most of the 6 parishes and 18 schools of the Salesian network. Some of the Salesian institutions also join the global ‘Don Bosco Green Alliance’ network, which is an integral member of the Laudato Si Movement (https://www.donboscogreen.org), connecting and inspiring 630 Don Bosco institutions in 88 countries around the world.
