The Springs of Carmel 2026 Bible Diary was formally launched at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Shrine in Benoni during a solemn ceremony officiated by Archbishop Emeritus Buti Tlhagale of Johannesburg.

The event was attended by the Carmelite provincial and all Carmelite friars of South Africa.

“The occasion marked a joyful moment as the Carmelite family came together to celebrate their spiritual heritage and the continuing mission of spreading God’s Word through the Springs of Carmel Bible Diary,” said Fr Rayan Pais OCD, rector of Mount Carmel Shrine.

He expressed his “heartfelt gratitude to all who worked tirelessly to bring out this edition, which serves as a spiritual companion for the faithful of Southern Africa”.

The 2026 edition of the Springs of Carmel Bible Diary serves as a guide for daily reflection, prayer, and meditation on Scripture. This year’s theme focuses especially on the successors of St Peter, the first pope.

The diary includes daily Mass readings, psalms, Gospel reflections, meditation questions, saint biographies, prayers of the faithful, novenas, the rosary, Divine Mercy chaplet, and more. It is available at R150.
