There are great volumes of books and articles published on the mystery of the Blessed Eucharist, and still, with this treasure within our grasp, with all our weekly and even daily Masses, many of us still struggle to believe, accept and live the mystery of the Body and Blood of Christ.
This Holy Week we will hear a lot about redemption and how Christ’s death on the cross redeemed mankind. In our modern usage, to redeem something means “to buy it back”; and in Holy Week we can use that idea.
Here is an opportunity to build bridges. This season offers us the opportunity to move away from the conventional slogans and frigid promises. It will demand a deeper faith and a lot of courage, like stepping out of a dark cell into a new light.
