By Patrick Dowling – St Joseph’s parish in Kommetjie in the Cape Town archdiocese is helping to organise a Rise for Climate event on Saturday, September 8, related to Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.
This will be at the Methodist Church Hall, 2 Chapel Street, in Rosebank, Cape Town, from 10:00 to 13:00.
St Joseph’s, with interfaith organisation SAFCEI and 350.org, is inviting leaders from youth, faith, government, media and business to respond to climate change-related questions, with five minutes each. This will lead to a plenary discussion identifying key actions for all.
There will be vegetarian snacks, and admission is free.
