Paul VI Set to be Saint

The Congregation for the Causes of Saints approved has the second miracle needed for the canonisation of Blessed Pope Paul VI, allowing his canonisation to take place, possibly later this year.

Salesians Honour 5 Board Stalwarts

Cape Town’s Salesian community honoured five long-serving board members with a prestigious medal from the order. Long-serving board members were awarded the Rector Major Medal in recognition of their services to the Salesians and their special ministry to needy youth.

Pope Francis is in the midst of the worst crisis in his papacy of almost five years.The Holy Father has a good record of saying the right things on the sex abuse scandal.So there was understandable indignation at comments in response to protests against a bishop accused of having known about the abuses of a priest.

Pope Francis and Communion

Jesus taught that divorcees who marry a second time commit adultery (Mk 10:11). The Church has followed this teaching. Divorcees may not receive Communion. Yet Pope Francis, in his exhortation Amoris Laetitia, is accused by some of now letting them receive Communion.
